will a corvette ls1 engine fit a 1969 gto?

I һаνе a 1969 gto tһаt DOES NOT һаνе original motor, im thinking аbουt putting a newer ls1 engine іח іt cause іtѕ newer аחԁ im guessing prolly better οח gas wіtһ more power. tһіחk іt wіƖƖ fit? οr even work? i һаνе seen іt done wіtһ a ls3 engine.

    sure it will fit. You will need the proper motor mont and maybe custom headers and exhaust and you will need the wiring harness for the computer but it should work just fine.

    .. if i was the owner and wanting to lay some numbers down i would get a ls2 from a gto or the ls7 from the vette.

    Yes the LS1 is getting to be a pretty common swap into older cars. Mount kits are made to put it right in place

    Yes… it will fit. it’s not a direct bolt-on and you might want to consider putting in a t-56 or 4l60 if you need a transmission too. LS1’s (and all LSx motors for that matter) are extremely reliable and not too bad on gas.

    Good luck, they are amazing cars and I hope to own an older GTO someday to compliment what else in the garage :)

    If you want to hold on to the value of the GTO I’d be looking for an original Pontiac motor to go into it and forget the chevy motor, you’ll destroy the value of it, I promise.
