In a straight line, the corvette. It makes more horsepower and is ~800 pounds lighter. On a race course with turns, the corvette BY FAR. If you need someone to explain that to you, then you obviously know nothing about cars.
However, the Charger has much mor CLASS than the corvette. Old school american muscle cars have an awesome charm to them.
depending on how well the charger was built it might beat the corvette ,but the vette is lighter and has more stock horse power, the the dodge will have to be really quick, you got to remember the dodge out weighs the corvette, and the vette gets a lot better take off than the dodge does, all this depends on what engine both cars have and how good the driver is,the driver is about 50% of the race,a bad driver can loose a race no matter what their driving how much power it has, good luck.
For arguments sake lets say two race prepped vehicles, Road course goes to Vette, Daytona Goes to Charger, (a Charger Lapped the Competition that year with an average speed of 147.+ over 500 Miles with straightaway speeds in excess of 205 and the number on the door was 43, the first of three in a row) 1/4 mile drag race against a 440 4bbl, Vette, against a 440six pack or Hemi 8bbl, Charger, in race prepared cars Ask Dick Landy or Keith Black, they made their names with Dodge
The corvette would win, but do it 3 times in a row and the vettes trans will have shattered. Chargers are built for the strip, they’ll survive any abuse. If it had a 426 HEMI however it would definatly give the vette a run for its money.
I’m thinking the Corvette, mostly because they are both huge fast cars, but the Vette is 30 years newer, with much newer technology.
But as I said, they are both really fast, and if you built the Charger, you could be running loads and loads of horsepower.
Oh, what kind of race? Anything with turns, the Corvette would probably win.
Stock for Stock? The Vette due to weight and tech.

The corvette would win because it has an aluminum/fiberglass body. I HATE corvettes…

If the Charger could use the same rear tires as the vette or if the vett had to use the tires the Charger came on in 1969 the Charger would win.
