Down to just problem 3 & 5. For 3 I was suggested that I pull the oil pan when cleaning out the hole so I’ll get to that pretty soon. For 5 if you can e-mail me a pic or post a quick video responce of your Rochester Quadrajet with auto trans that should show me what I need to know because it is wrong in the video.
Found the problem. The little wire on the solenoid hooks to S not R. Car came to life for just a second as it turned over once. That was a pretty big mile stone. Gotta work on some other stuff to actually start it but that was a big deal.
I put on a new solenoid yesterday. Now it doesn’t click, again. My battery was just charged but it sat unused for a long time before I got the car & its 3-year warranty was going to run out in a few months. I swapped it last night because that’s the next easy fix. I did notice while I had the starter off that its been taken apart before. Hopefully I wont have to replace that.
I’ll look into a solenoid it seems the most logical problem to me as well. The guys on CorvetteForum were saying I needed to drop the oil pan to clean the dipstick hole. I know little bits will fall any way I go about it & I sure dont want that floating around in my oil distroying something in 6 months.
your starter problem is a bad solenoid on the starter its a cheap fix, you oil pressure gauge will work fine where you relocated it.and maybe be real careful and use a set of tweezers to pull the rtv out of your dip stick hole
I’ve tapped on it, didnt seem to do anything. It was tempermental before the motor swap. I was able to relocate the oil senser to the top of the block behind the manifold & the temp sencer to the front of the manifold but I’m not sure if the guages work now lol
My biggest problem is that I don’t know anybody that can use a screwdriver let alone work on a car. Luckily the guys on Corvette Forum have been really great. I posted this video on there & already have some suggestions on some of these problems.
great car, been watching your videos. sorry about your problem buddy. Why don’t you take it to a shop or look for a mechanic who knows about rebuilding corvettes engines.

well the starter is bad or it might need to be shimed .if not tape on the starter lightly while cranking on the car . let me know what happens ,,,
